TNA Wrestling Always Had the Best Women’s Division, What Happened?
Since the beginning of time, TNA Wrestling had the greatest women’s division in the world, the Knockouts. From Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong to Tessa Blanchard vs. Gail Kim and most everything in between.
The Beautiful People must be mentioned, one of the greatest female stables ever. When was the last time TNA had a decent female stable? The Dollhouse maybe?
Here is the current Knockouts roster:
Jordynne Grace, Masha Slamovich, Dani Luna, Jody Threat, Ash by Elegance, Xia Brookside and Alisha Edwards, who has done an awesome job with The System.
Then there’s Rosemary and Havok who are basically jobbers and lost all star power they had, due to Scott’s terrible booking.
That’s it….that’s the Knockouts roster as of today.
Killer Kelly recently left, nobody knows why. Before that it was Taylor Wilde and now supposedly Tasha Steelz is gone also.
There are other KO’s on the roster like Su Yung, but we haven’t seen her in a long time. Steph DeLander isn’t signed and who knows if KiLynn King returns when she’s healthy.
Kamille was a free agent and I was totally expecting TNA to sign her. That’s what they used to, sign awesome females to make sure they had the best female roster.
Somehow the female roster is worse than Ring of Honor now, a promotion that literally died years ago.
What’s the fix? First off, DROP the TAG TITLES!!! It’s basic math! There’s nowhere near enough females for that to work. It just takes away from the singles division, which is close to dead.
The real problem seems not many females want to go to TNA anymore, when it used to be THE place for female wrestlers. How does that change? Why is it a thing these days? I have an idea.
Could it have something to do with Scott D’Amore’s firing over his relationship with a female talent?
It’s an educated guess that I’m going with until I hear something better.
